Electric car maker Tesla has laid off staff from its software, services and engineering departments, technology magazine Electrek reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Earlier, Tesla announced last month that it would cut more than 10% of its jobs worldwide, and the automaker led by Elon Elon musk was disbanded.BlockchainspacegameElectric vehicle charging department.

Employees of the carmaker received emails over the weekend as part of broader layoffs, according to Electrek.

Tesla's share price rose more than 1 per cent after the news, but the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The company disclosed in a notice last month that it would cut more than 6700 jobs in Texas, California, Nevada and New York.

Tesla has been under pressure from falling sales and intensified price wars among carmakers as rising interest rates slow the popularity of electric vehicles.

Analysts say Tesla wants to focus on autopilot software, robotic taxis and humanoid robots, and Mr Musk may cut spending on some teams to retain cash for these projects.
