Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic said he is willing to keep interest rates stable and that interest rates should wait until near the end of the year.

Bostic said he still believes inflation is moving towards the central bank's 2% target, but at a slower pace than people expect. Bostic previously said it expected to cut interest rates only once this year.

Bostic said,"Inflation is high, too high, jackpotslotscasinoWe need to get it to reach the 2% target and I am willing to be patient."

Bostic, who has a vote on monetary policy this year, said he would continue to focus on job growth and inflation-adjusted wage growth.

"I think our policy stance is restrictive and it will ultimately help slow the economy and get inflation to the 2% target," he said. If all these other good things are happening, I'm in no hurry to achieve my goal."

Bostic said U.S. businesses and consumers are in much better shape than typical during the economic cycle, and "I hope it continues."
